That terrace scene at the end of the free part. I swore out loud and paid to keep reading immediately. Enemies-to-lovers with a marriage that is not fake (it is worse, it is real) does something very different to me than the usual fake-dating trope, in the best way.

Warmer than I expected from a story about a forced marriage, and that is a compliment. Four stars because the court intrigue in the middle dragged a touch for me, but the bride is wonderfully headstrong: she is playing her own game, not waiting around.
